Also, not being able to layer entities is a huge setback for mappers. So what if entities had a new option: coordinates that this "event" would take place. Example,

I have an entity[1] on (2,5) and another entity[2] on (7,9). The coordinates for entity[2] are (2,5). This way we can have 2 "events" or "actions" on one tile
